About us
Founded in 2021 by a collective of women and non-binary people of color, we’re a Washington-based organization working within the early childhood policy sector in our state. Our goal is to make the sector more just and inclusive by increasing representation and power in this space so that there are more leaders of color — particularly people from Black, Indigenous, Latinx and Pacific Islander communities — because communities that are most impacted by educational injustices must be represented in positions of power.
Our Fellowship
Right now, we’re focused on co-creating pathways for leaders of color to join and make impacts in early childhood policies. We’re launching our inaugural Fellowship program, which will bring together leaders of many different cultural and ethnic backgrounds and place them at partner organizations or agencies currently working in the early childhood policy space.
Our Fellowship is currently taking applications in June 2024 and will launch in October 2024.
Our funder
Pathwaves WA is pursuing independent 501(c)3 nonprofit status. Currently we have a fiscal sponsorship through Southeast Seattle Education Coalition (SESEC).
